A rich history

Schultze and Weaver, the celebrated architects of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York and many other prominent landmarks around the world, designed the News and Sun Building in the late 1920s for former Ohio Governor, James M. Cox.

With the help of President Calvin Coolidge, the downtown building, located at 202 N. Limestone Street was dedicated on Saturday, October 20, 1929. The dedication was a grand event with music and speeches, and thousands of visitors from around the area come to tour the building.

Calvin Coolidge himself pressed the button to start the press. That was just over a week before the Black Tuesday Stock Market Crash sent America into the Great Depression.
